Overlooking the Mozambique Channel and just outside the fishing village of Mangily, Les Dunes d’Ifaty is a charming, 3-star hotel. Surrounded by tropical gardens, the hotel is solar-powered and built using traditional materials, with dry stone walls, thatched roofs and furniture carved from local wood.     
 

Rooms

The 41 rooms are simply furnished and set in the tropical gardens. The Standard and Superior Rooms are in double bungalows while the Luxury Rooms are in individual bungalows and have sea views. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with shower. The Superior and Luxury rooms have a shaded outdoor terrace while some Luxury bungalows have two bedrooms, ideal for families.
 

Facilities

Under the high, thatched roof of the main building there’s a welcoming reception area, a lounge, bar and the restaurant where simple meals made from fresh local produce are served inside or on the terrace. Tropical trees surround the seafront swimming pool and steps lead directly onto the beach. The beach bar is the place to be for cocktails and magnificent sunsets.
