Overview

Located in the isolated area of Kaokoveld, Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is perfect for the high-end adventurous traveller seeking an off-the-beaten-track destination, close to the dramatic Skeleton Coast and within the true Namib Desert.

Rooms

There are seven innovatively designed standard tents, all well-insulated, completely solar-powered and raised off the ground. All tents have a stylish feel and are en-suite with a spacious private deck, and have a tea and coffee station, and mini-bar.

The separate family tent has two bedrooms, each with en-suite facilities, and a deck area in between. Each bedroom has its own separate entrance.

Facilities

The camp’s central area has a bar, pool and a spacious outdoor deck with shaded seating – perfect for relaxing with a sundowner in hand, enjoying the surrounding views and sharing the day’s adventures while planning the next.

Take a day trip driving along the Hoanib River’s gravel floodplain, with spectacular towering dunes and the occasional lush oasis – where flamingos are seasonally seen, to the wild Skeleton Coast, with its shipwreck remnants and colonies of Cape fur seals and other wildlife. Then fly back to camp for a jaw-dropping aerial view of the dry Hoanib watercourse.

For those into wildlife, one of the nature drives through the vast desert is home to some rare desert-adapted wildlife.
