Cradled against ancient mountains, andBeyond Sossusvlei Desert Lodge enjoys both the grandeur and solitude of the Namib. The sophisticated elegance and comfort of the lodge contrasts with the dramatic and rugged desert landscape.

Rooms

The lodge’s ten stone and glass desert suites are all en-suite, with a glass-encased rain shower offering 180º views, and a private lap pool on the terrace. The suites’ glass fronts create a perfectly framed view of the impressive surroundings outside, and for star-gazing at night, a retractable skylight has been positioned above the bed. The suites are spacious, with a living area, music system and a minibar.

The Star Dune Suite, ideal for friends and family, has two suites linked by a covered walkway, a lounge and a dining area.

Facilities

Built from glass, rock and steel, the main lodge has a contemporary design that blends expertly with the surroundings. Watch the chefs prepare meals at the interactive kitchen and dine under the stars or privately on your terrace. A well-stocked wine cellar provides the perfect accompaniment. There’s a refreshing pool, which is supplied with water from the lodge’s underground spring, a boma for sociable evenings, a small gym and spa and an observatory kitted out with a state-of-the-art telescope.

Activities include scenic desert drives, a morning dune walk, a desert people experience, e-biking, hiking and star gazing. Helicopter and hot air balloon flights over the Namib Desert can be arranged at additional cost.
