Overview

Camp Sossus offers an immersive experience of the Namib Desert, built from natural materials that blend into the desert landscapes. It’s an intimate camp, with a focus on the unique activities in the area, flexible timetables and comfortable hospitality.

Rooms

The camp’s six tented rooms are all en-suite with a semi open-air bathroom with safari-style bucket showers. Their large windows and doors allow natural cooling by the afternoon wind, and there’s a shaded patio and day-bed to relax on and enjoy the view. On the roof of each room there is a star bed where you can sleep, if you choose, under the clear, starry Namibian desert skies. With the camp’s eco-focus, the tents have solar-powered lighting, electrical charging station, and pedestal fan.

Facilities

The main lodge has a raised desert swimming pool to cool off in, a spacious lounge with cosy fireplace, as well as a dining area (private dining can be arranged) and a campfire circle. The large viewing deck looks out over the nearby waterhole, perfect for the chance to spot wildlife as they come for their refreshment.

Activities available locally include nature drives and walks, mountain bike explorations and star gazing.
