A tiny speck in the Indian Ocean, this private island is surrounded by protected waters that teem with tropical fish and beaches where sea turtles come to nest: Denis is a real escapist’s dream, a true digital detox.   

Rooms

Twenty-three free-standing cottages and villas, all with direct access to the beach, are separated by the island’s natural vegetation, assuring privacy for all guests. Decorated in calming, natural colours with furniture and wood flooring fashioned at the island’s carpentry workshop, the cottages have spacious indoor and outdoor living areas. Bathrooms with bathtubs lead out to a courtyard garden with an open-air shower. 

All cottages have direct access to the beach with sun loungers ready for your arrival and feature air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mini fridge and tea and coffee station. Slightly larger than the Beach Cottages, the Deluxe Beach Cottages have an outdoor sala with a day bed while the Beachfront Spa Cottages have the addition of a personal massage pavilion in the private bathroom courtyard. The Beach Villa is ideal for families or those seeking more privacy, with a large wrap-around veranda, extensive outdoor living areas and a plunge pool.

Facilities

The main lodge with its high thatched roof houses a bar, comfortable lounging and dining areas and a games area. In the library there is a satellite TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. Menus are based around seasonal produce with dining either indoors, poolside or on the beach. In front of the lodge there’s an inviting pool.

A PADI dive centre runs courses for beginners, while other water-based activities include kayaking, snorkelling, paddle boarding and fishing. Nature tours will introduce you to the island’s flora and fauna. Explore further at your own pace on a bicycle or a self-guided walk, you may come across the island’s cattle, poultry or even the giant tortoises as you wander. Green and Hawksbill turtles nest on the island’s beaches.

Soothing and relaxing spa treatments are available either in your cottage or in the Beachfront Spa Cottage.
