Why holiday in Praslin?
Praslin, the second largest island in the Seychelles, is much less developed than neighbouring Mahé. It has a very natural feel with a sleepy, laid-back atmosphere, shallow turquoise seas and incredible beaches that frequently feature on ‘Top 10’ listings. In fact, Anse Lazio is widely regarded as the most beautiful beach on earth. In the Vallee de Mai Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the pristine rainforest is home to some unique sights - the famous Coco de Mer palms with their extremely large and heavy seeds and the rare Seychelles black parrot. Hiking trails reveal breathtaking views while the protected waters and coral reefs teem with life.
Praslin is a 15-minute flight from Mahé and accommodation choices include boutique hotels on beautiful beaches and a full service, family-friendly resort with the only 18-hole championship golf course in the Seychelles. Praslin is also a great base from which to visit other islands, such as Curieuse with its giant Aldabra tortoises, Aride, St Pierre and Cousin.

When to travel to Praslin
In the Seychelles the seasons are determined by the trade winds. From November to March the winds from the northwest bring the warmest temperatures and the heaviest rain. December and January are the wettest months. Between May and October the southeast winds bring slightly cooler temperatures and much less rain. The transition months between the seasons (April, May, October and November) can be the most pleasant.
