EXTRAORDINARY
South Africa
Why visit South Africa?
South Africa is extraordinary, visitors want to return time and time again. Ever popular Cape Town, Table Mountain, the Winelands and The Garden Route are simply beautiful, yet there is more: the dramatic Drakensberg Mountains, the Karoo and over 1900 miles of scenic coastline.
Stir the soul with an array of world-renowned safaris from the Kruger to the Eastern Cape to the red soil of the Kalahari, whilst the whale watching is some of the best in the world. Evocative Battlefield tales in KwaZulu-Natal bring history to life in a vivid and imaginative way. Add to this a mix of vibrant, passionate cultures, which extends into an exciting restaurant scene.
South Africa really is a 'World In One Country.'
Discover South Africa
Explore South Africa
With its breath-taking scenery, unique experiences, incredible wildlife and world-class attractions, we firmly believe South Africa has something for everyone. We have explored the country extensively, so we know just how amazing and diverse it is.
The Western Cape is simply spectacular. From Robben Island to Table Mountain, Cape Town’s attractions are known the world over. The West Coast delights with sandy dunes, beaches and the dramatic Cederberg Mountains. From the Cape Peninsula to Hermanus, you’ll see some of the country’s phenomenal marine life, while the Garden Route offers stunning coastlines, blue flag beaches and breathtaking nature reserves. Head inland to discover the vineyards and wine estates of the Cape Winelands and the Overberg, along with scenic drives through the valley of the Klein Karoo.
The Eastern Cape region offers exciting bush and beach combinations. Why not follow a safari in one of the many excellent malaria-free reserves with a beachside stay – we know a host of unspoiled beaches and seaside resorts, from St Francis Bay all the up to the border with KwaZulu-Natal.
From lively coastal resorts and the dramatic Drakensberg Mountains to safaris, pristine beaches and untouched wetlands, we believe that KwaZulu-Natal has something for everyone. Our top tip – don’t miss out on a visit to the battlefield sites at Spioenkop, Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift, a highlight of any trip to ‘KZN’.
The Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces offer scenery and safari in equal measure. Spanning the two, the Greater Kruger Area offers some of the best wildlife viewing in the country in both the Kruger National Park and the private reserves that surround it. For spectacular mountains, valleys, gorges and canyons, look no further than the aptly named Panorama Route, while the malaria-free northern reserves of Madikwe and Waterberg are great for family safaris.
The red sands of the Kalahari reach as far south as South Africa’s Northern Cape Province. It is here, right on the southernmost edge of the Kalahari, that you’ll find an utterly unique wilderness experience. Encounter the Kalahari black-maned lions and colonies of meerkats, sleep out under a canopy of stars or ride a horse across the rolling dunes that stretch from the Korannaberg Mountains to the arid Kalahari savannah.
Experience South Africa
Stunning scenery. South Africa’s landscapes are as diverse as they are vast. From Cape Town’s natural setting between mountain and ocean to the red sands of the Kalahari desert, and plenty in between. We create holidays that showcase the country at her finest, whether you wish to explore the mountains, lakes, forests and beaches of the Garden Route, the spectacular Drakensberg Mountains or the displays of spring flowers that carpet the Northern Cape.
Safari. Create lasting memories on a South African safari. We’ll use our personal experience to help choose the right safari for you, whether it’s an opportunity to see the iconic Big 5 and more in the Kruger or a malaria-free safari in Madikwe or the Eastern Cape. We can also advise on where to see meerkats, black-maned lions or the Marine 5 – South Africa has some of the best land-based whale-watching in the world.
Natural wonders. South Africa is home to some of the most famous natural wonders of the world. Table Mountain is instantly recognisable while in KwaZulu-Natal, the iSimangaliso wetlands and the Drakensberg Mountains are both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Not to mention the National Parks – whether you prefer the vast wilderness of the Kruger or the dunes and beaches of the West Coast, we will curate the best experiences for you.
Enjoy active adventures. Try zip-wiring through the Tsitsikamma Forest, ride fat bikes across the dunes at Walker Bay, snorkel with seals or go kayaking along the coast. Take to the skies for a scenic helicopter ride, explore on horseback or go hiking with an experienced guide. We’ll be happy to plan your holiday activities.
Discover history and culture. Be immersed in storytelling on a battlefield tour in KwaZulu-Natal or take a thought-provoking trip across to Cape Town’s Robben Island. Explore the Cape’s historic estates or delve into the Zulu culture in KwaZulu-Natal. We are happy to arrange visits to township communities that we know have been sensitively organised and support the community too.
Food & wine. When it comes to gastronomy, South Africa excels. Cape Town is full of exciting chefs and has an innovative restaurant scene. Savour the delights of Bunny Chow in Durban or a traditional Cape Malay curry in Cape Town’s Bo Kaap neighbourhood. We highly recommend a tour of the Cape Winelands - whether by private car, bike or tram, it’s always a great day out, and we’ll pass on our restaurant recommendations to help you plan your dining experiences.

When to visit South Africa
South Africa is a year-round destination to visit, but being such a vast country the climate varies and some parts are better to visit at certain times of year.
South Africa's summer months from December to March/April are great months to visit Cape Town, the Cape Winelands, the Garden Route and the Eastern Cape - where you can expect warm, sunny days on the whole and limited rainfall.
The Western Cape area will be cooler (and probably wetter) from May to October. For whale spotting the best months tend to be July to November and for carpets of spring flowers - we suggest August.
KwaZulu-Natal is a great year-round destination. April to October are particularly pleasant months to visit due to the warm temperatures and low rainfall. November to February is a good time to visit to see turtles nesting on the beaches of the Elephant Coast.
When to visit the Western Cape is shown below. For other areas of South Africa please visit the relevant pages.
