Overview

Kariega Game Reserve is a 11,500 hectare wilderness reserve in South Africa's malaria-free Eastern Cape, bordered east and west by the dramatic valleys of the Kariega and Bushmans Rivers.
 

Rooms
 

There are four 4-star lodges and one 5-star lodge on the reserve, varying in size and location but all with beautiful views. Each lodge has its own pool, lounge and dining areas. All bedrooms are en suite and air-conditioned.

• The Main Lodge has 24 air-conditioned log chalets, each with a lounge, en-suite bathrooms and a viewing deck. Some have a plunge pool.
• River Lodge has ten thatched suites set on the banks of the Bushmans River.
• Ukhozi Lodge has ten superior suites, each with a plunge pool.
• The Homestead is a private, seven-bedroom lodge with a dedicated game ranger and chef.
   
• Settlers Drift is a stylish, 5-star tented lodge with nine spacious suites.
   

Facilities
 

A Wellness Centre with spa treatment rooms and a gym is located at Main Lodge., while all lodges have an outdoor pool. River Lodge and Settlers Drift have spa areas for relaxing treatments. 

Activities include twice-daily game drives and guided bush walks and there is the unusual option for some activities on the river including a boat cruise, canoeing or fishing.

Children of all ages are welcome at family-friendly Main Lodge, where there's a Kids on Safari centre and activities organised between game drives. Children over 10yrs are welcome at the other four lodges.
