Owned by Sir Richard Branson, Ulusaba comprises three luxury lodges in the Sabi Sand Reserve, an area of exceptional wildlife adjacent to Kruger National Park.
 

Rooms

Ulusaba’s lodges offer very different styles and locations. All are beautifully decorated in a fresh, modern African style and have air-conditioning, ceiling fans and a fully-stocked complimentary mini-bar.
 

• Safari Lodge – nestled under trees on a dry river bed, the lodge has eight rooms and two suites. Elephant and River Rooms are built in treehouse-style above the bush. Some of the rooms are linked by swing bridges and two of the River Rooms and the Safari Suite have private plunge pools. All rooms have a viewing deck, a perfect spot to observe the passing wildlife.
• Rock Lodge – built on a hilltop 800 feet above the bush, the eight rooms and suites have incredible views. The Master Suite and the Makwela Suites have private plunge pools. Several rooms are split level, and all have a balcony or terrace.
• Cliff Lodge – two exclusive suites located just a short walk from Rock Lodge. Suite 1 is a two-bedroom suite with private swimming pool, indoor and outdoor showers and a mini spa and gym; suite 2 is a huge open space with a private plunge pool on the terrace.

Facilities

Both Rock Lodge and Safari Lodge operate independently and have plenty of communal areas for relaxing and dining, a pool, a fully equipped gym and Aroma Boma Spa. There are also two tennis courts.

Cliff Lodge can be used as an extension of Rock Lodge or booked exclusively – when booked exclusively, it comes with a complement of staff.

Meals can be enjoyed in a variety of locations, from the lodge to a traditional South African braai in the bush. Private dining can also be arranged. Both lodges have an enviable wine cellar, wine tastings are highly recommended.
