Overview
 

Boschendal is a working farm in the Franschhoek Valley, set in the historic Werf area of Simondium. The estate covers extensive grounds on both sides of the Helshoogte Road, stretching up to the mountains.

Rooms
 

With an emphasis on stylish simplicity, the guest cottages are authentic and rural yet contemporary in character. Most cottages are located in three distinct clusters on the farm, with some private cottages alongside. All accommodation is en-suite, with air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, satellite TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. 

• The 5-star Werf Garden Cottages are close to the restaurant, deli, wine tasting room and picnic gardens and can accommodate up to two adults and two children. They have been subtly restored, with views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. 
• Across the road, the 4-star Orchard Cottages have one to three bedrooms, outdoor dining areas, a large shared swimming pool and a magnificent setting among the Boschendal orchards. Breakfast is taken at the main restaurant.
• Also across the road is The Retreat, a collection of eighteen 2-bedroom cottages, contemporary in style and situated around a natural pool in a far corner of the farm. The Retreat has its own lounge and dining area for breakfast and lunch. 

All cottages have a full kitchen (kitchenette in the smaller cottages) and are serviced daily. They are Ideal for couples, families and groups of friends.

Facilities
 

There are swimming pools close to the cottages and a great range of outdoor activities including guided tours of the farm and hikes, bike trails and horse-riding (some local charges apply). For the children, there is the Tree House Playground and Pump Track, with supervised holiday programmes also available.

Dining options include The Werf Restaurant, The Deli, and picnic baskets can be arranged for picnics in the gardens. You can have breakfast or braai baskets brought to your cottage; or pick up some fresh farm produce at the excellent Farmshop and Butchery.
