Overview

Located high above the town of Sedgefield, Simbavati Fynbos is a working protea farm and private nature reserve, with amazing views on all sides across the forest, estuary and ocean. The 600-hectare reserve aims to preserve the local flora and fauna, and you may encounter indigenous wildlife including zebra, eland, bushbuck and waterbuck as you explore.

Rooms

The nine rooms are set around the main lodge, all are en-suite with a shower, tea and coffee facilities, mini-bar, satellite TV, and air-conditioning. The Classic Suites have either an ocean or garden view and French doors that open onto a small seating area while the Luxury Suites all have ocean views and an outdoor terrace. The Superior Suites have, in our view, the best of the views over the Indian Ocean, the lagoon and the Outeniqua Mountains. One has a smaller second bedroom with en-suite shower room and is ideal for families.

Facilities
 

The main lodge has a comfortable bar area, a dining room, an outdoor terrace and incredible ocean views from all areas. Outside there is a heated outdoor pool with wooden deck and loungers, again all positioned to capture the views. 

Activities include guided fynbos walks on the reserve, 4x4 nature drives, mountain bike trails, beach and marine walks and a sunset barge experience.
