Overview

Lekkerwater Beach Lodge is an eco-lodge set on a six kilometre stretch of pristine beach in the De Hoop Nature Reserve. It offers great views over the ocean and is regarded as one of the best destinations for whale-watching (in season), as well as spotting seals and sea birds, all from the comfort of the lodge. The lodge also has a fascinating historical story, being the former home of FW de Klerk who held secret discussions here with ANC members to bring an end to the apartheid era.

Rooms

All seven rooms are en-suite, with either a balcony or deck, a lounge area with fireplace and tea and coffee facilities. Each room has floor-to-ceiling windows for unobstructed views of the ocean. The family room has a double-bedded downstairs room, and an upstairs loft area with two single beds.

Facilities

At the main lodge, there is a pool, an interactive kitchen and a wrap-around deck to make the most of the views. At beach level a private hot tub affords a truly unique way to view the whales. Guided activities focus on walking explorations of the hills and beaches focusing on the history and natural vegetation of this special area.
