Overview

The first camp to be built in Nyerere, Siwandu is a stylish camp scenically set overlooking a lake in an area of the park renowned for the wildlife. In addition to game drives, there are walking safaris and boat trips.

Rooms

The 13 spacious tented rooms are octagonal in shape, with canvas walls and a high, thatch roof. The large windows take full advantage of the views across to the lake. The beautiful open-air stargazer showers are solar-heated and two decks are positioned to capture both sunrise and sunset.

Facilities

The lounge and dining areas are elevated to give views of the lake. There’s a pool to cool off in after a day of game viewing, a guided walk or a boat trip on the lake or the Rufiji River delta.

Siwandu Camp sits in a palm grove on the shores of Lake Nzerakera in the northern sector of Nyerere National Park.

"We had an amazing, awesome trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. Everything ran smoothly and we managed to see the Big 5 plus lots of lions, tree lions cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, hippos, elephants galore etc. Even the wildebeest. The accommodation was great everywhere. We had the most wonderful time and despite the cost, the air balloon flight was so worth it. Such an experience, none of us will ever forget."
