Overview
Barefoot luxury, in a location where the jungle meets the ocean. Fundu Lagoon is a luxury beach lodge sympathetically hidden among the palms overlooking a sandy beach and mangroves. The remote and private location is a huge part of its appeal.
Rooms
Fundu has 12 tented rooms of varying standards and size, each shaded with a makuti thatched roof. The tents are designed to complement their surroundings but with luxuries needed for a lodge of this standard, including plunge pools, en-suite bathrooms and a terrace with sun loungers. Choose between hillside rooms with incredible ocean views and cooling breezes or beachfront rooms shaded by tropical trees.
Facilities
Dine in the open-sided restaurant under a high roof, on the jetty or enjoy a BBQ on the beach. Fundu has four bars, an infinity pool and Fusion Spa. Wi-Fi is available at the main lodge. Activities on offer include diving with the in-house PADI dive centre, kayaking, snorkelling, sunset and dolphin cruises. Land-based adventures include a village walk, an island tour and a river safari. Some activities incur local charges.

Fundu Lagoon is set in the southeastern corner of Pemba Island, in the northern part of the Zanzibar archipelago.
"We had an amazing, awesome trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. Everything ran smoothly and we managed to see the Big 5 plus lots of lions, tree lions cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, hippos, elephants galore etc. Even the wildebeest. The accommodation was great everywhere. We had the most wonderful time and despite the cost, the air balloon flight was so worth it. Such an experience, none of us will ever forget."
