Overview
Remote and unspoiled, Manta Resort is a hotel that offers an escape from daily life, an untouched environment, an idyllic beach and some exceptional diving. Not to mention the unique Underwater Room.
Rooms
There are 19 rooms in total. Garden rooms vary in size and are set among the hotel’s gardens, while the spacious seafront villas have views over the surrounding vegetation and are closer to the sea. The style is traditional Pemban décor blended with modern comforts. The unique Underwater Room is one of a kind – a floating, three- level platform, 250 metres from the shoreline. There’s a lounge and bathroom on the sea level deck and a ladder up to the roof deck where you can sun worship by day and star gaze by night. Below deck is the underwater bedroom, with glass walls on almost all sides and spotlights illuminating the waters at night.
Facilities
Dine on the elevated terrace of the Seaview Restaurant. Relax in the lounge, beach bar or by the pool. A complimentary spa treatment is offered daily. Activities include diving (learn to dive at the PADI dive centre), sunset cruises, fishing and island trips.

Manta Resort overlooks the ocean in the northwestern tip of Pemba Island, the second largest island of the Zanzibar archipelago.
"We had an amazing, awesome trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. Everything ran smoothly and we managed to see the Big 5 plus lots of lions, tree lions cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, hippos, elephants galore etc. Even the wildebeest. The accommodation was great everywhere. We had the most wonderful time and despite the cost, the air balloon flight was so worth it. Such an experience, none of us will ever forget."
