The smallest of six islands in the Songo Songo archipelago, Fanjove is an eco-chic, private island resort surrounded by an intact coral reef. An escapist’s dream.
Rooms
Sixteen beach villas face the ocean and are set among the palms along the sandy shore. Built in traditional style, with Makuti thatched roofs, teak floors, coral stone walls and wooden doors carved by Zanzibari craftsmen, the villas are furnished with organic white cottons, a mini bar and coffee machine, walkie-talkies for communication and Wi-Fi.
Facilities
Island activities include snorkelling, kayaking, SUP, island walks, a sand bank trip, a sunset dhow trip and dolphin/whale excursions. Scuba diving can be arranged for PADI-certified divers. Meals are taken on the shaded terrace of the 19thcentury lighthouse. The small gym and spa enjoy the same fabulous sea views.

Fanjove Island is one of the islands in the Songo Songo archipelago just off the coast of Tanzania.
"We had an amazing, awesome trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. Everything ran smoothly and we managed to see the Big 5 plus lots of lions, tree lions cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, hippos, elephants galore etc. Even the wildebeest. The accommodation was great everywhere. We had the most wonderful time and despite the cost, the air balloon flight was so worth it. Such an experience, none of us will ever forget."
