Overview

Set on a long and beautiful stretch of white, sandy beach and surrounded by lush greenery, Zanzibar Pearl is at one with its natural surroundings. Sandy paths criss-cross the resort, wending their way through the towering palms to the beach.

Rooms

The 24 rooms and suites are in two-storey stone cottages with traditional Zanzibari mokuti roofs that blend in well with the surroundings. Inside they are simply but stylishly furnished, with tea and coffee station, ceiling fans and en suite bathrooms. All have outdoor space to enjoy the views – the Pearl Suites are oceanfront while the Oyster Suites overlook the tropical gardens. The Oyster Villas have a separate lounge and an air-conditioned bedroom while the Pearl Villa comes with its own pool. 

Facilities

The central area follows the traditional style with a high thatched roof and open sides to maximise the ocean breezes. Here, there’s a lounge, bar and seafront restaurant where freshly-cooked meals make the most of the island’s natural produce.

In the gardens there’s a swimming pool with sun loungers and a PADI dive centre with a teaching pool, with some excellent dive and snorkel spots just offshore. At 250 metres long, the hotel has the longest beachfront in Matemwe.
