Overview
Specialising in ‘slow safari’, Chem Chem Lodge is a luxurious oasis where you can simply sit and watch the wildlife as it comes and goes in front of the lodge.
Rooms
The eight large, tented suites have been constructed of canvas, lava-stone and wood and are exquisitely decorated. The bathrooms have indoor and outdoor showers and there’s a luxurious day bed on one of the private patio areas.
Facilities
The open-plan main lodge houses the dining area with outside sunken campfire, a bar, lounge and library. There’s a viewing deck with awe-inspiring views over Lake Manyara. Outside, a pool is hidden in the trees and gym facilities and pampering treatments are available at the Chem Chem Amani Spa.

Chem Chem is set in its own concession which creates an important wildlife corridor linking Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara.
"We had an amazing, awesome trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. Everything ran smoothly and we managed to see the Big 5 plus lots of lions, tree lions cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, hippos, elephants galore etc. Even the wildebeest. The accommodation was great everywhere. We had the most wonderful time and despite the cost, the air balloon flight was so worth it. Such an experience, none of us will ever forget."
