Overview

Chada Katavi retains the pioneering spirit on which it was founded. Perfectly placed to explore Katavi's fragile seasonal rivers, open plains and woodland, the focus here is on large concentrations of wildlife and the action is rarely far from camp.

Rooms

Six airy, classic walk-in safari tents are nestled privately among the trees. Each is en-suite with traditional bucket showers and an eco-loo with a view.

Facilities

Dine in the mess tent or under the stars; relax in the lounge tent or on the wooden deck, under the shade of the tamarind trees. A fly-camping sleep-out can be arranged.

Chada Katavi sits on the edge of the Chada Plain, under a canopy of acacia and tamarind trees in Katavi National Park.

"We had an amazing, awesome trip to Tanzania and Zanzibar. Everything ran smoothly and we managed to see the Big 5 plus lots of lions, tree lions cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, hippos, elephants galore etc. Even the wildebeest. The accommodation was great everywhere. We had the most wonderful time and despite the cost, the air balloon flight was so worth it. Such an experience, none of us will ever forget."
