Overview
The river is at the heart of this camp, with safari activities including boat cruises, canoeing safaris or tiger fishing. It’s a haven for wildlife sightings due to the small number of camps in the area – you’ll find few other people here.
Rooms
The camp has eight classic tents, each with a panoramic view along the Chongwe River. The tents have overhead fans, an open-air bathroom and a porch area with comfortable lounge chairs, all furnished with local fabrics and materials.
Facilities
Meals and drinks are prepared in camp and taken in the relaxed main lounge-dining-bar area. Along with the safari activities, there is a wildlife hide in the camp itself, which is great for photography and the opportunity to spot those rare nocturnal creatures.
Due to the remote nature, limited Wi-Fi is available in camp.
The camp is open 1 April – 15 November. Children of all ages are welcome.

Chongwe Camp is found at the confluence of the Chongwe and Zambezi Rivers in Lower Zambezi National Park.

Saw all the big 5 except rhinos.The accommodation was top class (lovely big beds), the people who staffed it were so friendly, guides were so knowledgeable, you really felt they wanted you to visit their country. We did a helicopter tour over Victoria falls, which were awe inspiring - another highlight of the holiday. All the transfers were smooth and efficient and this reduced any stress in the holiday, loved the small plane hops between camps in Botswana.
