WELCOME TO

Chamilandu Bushcamp

SOUTH LUANGWA

Overview

With only three stilted chalets, an intimate and private camp experience is on offer at Chamilandu. Great views of the lagoon and its wildlife are a highlight and walking safaris and game drives offer the ideal way to explore.

Rooms

Chamilandu's three open-fronted reed and thatch chalets sit on stilts overlooking the Luangwa River, all with raised salas from which to enjoy the views. Each has a bathroom and twin outdoor showers under the ebony trees, with solar-powered hot and cold water, and a floor fan.

Facilities

The camp has a central lounge, fully stocked bar and dining area, all with views of the Luangwa River. Everything is solar-powered, and limited charging facilities are available. There is a photographic hide overlooking a watering hole frequented by a wide variety of wildlife. For keen photographers, a specially adapted photographic vehicle is available.
The camp is open June to November. Children aged 12 and over are welcome.

"The holiday was absolutely fantastic. Saw all the big 5 except rhinos. The accommodation was top class (lovely big beds), the people who staffed it were so friendly, guides were so knowledgeable, you really felt they wanted you to visit their country. We did a helicopter tour over Victoria falls, which were awe inspiring - another highlight of the holiday. All the transfers were smooth and efficient and this reduced any stress in the holiday, loved the small plane hops between camps in Botswana. We had an unforgettable holiday and will be boring our friends and family with it for months. Thanks for your help in organising this wonderful holiday. "

" We had a wonderful time! We loved the journey and whole experience on Rovos Rail from Pretoria to Vic Falls. We especially enjoyed Victoria Falls and the wildlife in the grounds of the hotel! We liked Mauritius alot. "

"We had a FABULOUS time. Even my husband, who was not keen on going, enjoyed the trip! We saw the Big 5 as well as many other animals. The vulture feeding at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge was well worth watching. It is part of a foundation to keep these birds from becoming endangered. It was a great trip and my family loved it. Thank you so very much for all your help in making the trip a reality for us!!!"

"South Africa was absolutely fabulous. Too many highlights to mention. The “stand out” for us was definitely the Rovos Train. The helicopter flight over Victoria Falls was exciting & the Safari at Shamwari was superb! Driving the Garden route (& sometimes off the beaten track !) was stunning. Great memories of such a lovely country."
