Overview

Khulu Bush Camp is a small bush camp set on a private concession bordering Hwange National Park. Successfully combining luxury and adventure, this camp is the perfect getaway for the safari enthusiast requiring top of the range guiding, wildlife viewing and intimacy.

Rooms

There are nine rooms of thatch and canvas design, built on a raised platform to ensure the best views. All rooms have indoor and outdoor showers and a private balcony overlooking the waterhole. Two of the rooms are honeymoon suites and include an outdoor bath and swing chair on the balcony. All suites have complimentary mini-bar and coffee machine.

For families, nearby Khulu’s Retreat is an eco-friendly private villa that comes with a private chef and guide.

Facilities

The main area is an open plan thatched building with a lounge and large dining table where all meet to share stories of their experiences of the day. A member of staff is always on hand to serve drinks from the well-stocked drinks cabinet. Relax by the pool or sit by one of the two firepits and observe the wildlife at the waterhole.

There are many activities to take part in, including half or full-day game drives and night game drives on the private concession. Walking safaris with some excellent guides and a selection of hides or viewing platforms around camp ensure a different wildlife experience. ‘Purpose Drive Safaris’ offer the chance to get to know Africa’s wilderness and culture at a deeper level. Nearby there is the Painted Dog Conservation Centre which is well worth a visit.
