VICTORIA FALLS

Overview

Enjoying uninterrupted views of spectacular African sunsets and year-round game at its on-site waterhole, the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is ideally positioned to offer even the most discerning traveller a taste of Africa at its best.

Rooms

A relatively large lodge, there are 72 rooms in total, all facing the sunset. Decorated in earthy tones and African artwork, each has air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, tea and coffee station, complimentary Wi-Fi, an en-suite bathroom with walk-in rainfall shower and a balcony that overlooks the Zambezi National Park. Waterhole-facing rooms allow guests to watch the wildlife from their balcony. Six duplex suites have a lounge and balcony downstairs, a bedroom and bathroom, with bath and shower, upstairs and the added benefit of a complimentary minibar stocked with local beer, house wine, soft drinks and water.

The estate is also home to the Victoria Falls Safari Club and the Safari Suites. The Club is an exclusive lodge its own pool, dining area and just 20 rooms, a popular choice with couples. The two and three-bedroom Safari Suites can be good options for families – please ask our team for more information.

Facilities

The Makuwa-Kuwa restaurant offers buffet breakfasts and a la carte lunches and dinners while the Boma restaurant specialises in traditional Zimbabwean dishes and the very popular Dinner & Drum Show, a lively and entertaining evening of Zimbabwean music and culture. Light meals are available during the day at the Boma Café while the Buffalo Bar serves drinks and snacks all day and has a large deck where sundowners and pre- and post-dinner drinks can be enjoyed while watching the game around the waterhole.

Relax by the pool and enjoy a treatment in the Safari Spa, follow a nature trail where you might spot bushbuck and warthogs or spend some time in a hide, observing the wildlife and prolific birdlife.

A highlight is the Vulture Culture Experience, a chance to learn about the important role these endangered birds play and the plight they are facing. The daily feeding programme aims to aid their survival.

Our thoughts

" The lodge’s location combines the best of both worlds – Victoria Falls’ many attractions are just minutes away, yet you are surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bush. "

"The holiday was absolutely fantastic. Saw all the big 5 except rhinos. The accommodation was top class (lovely big beds), the people who staffed it were so friendly, guides were so knowledgeable, you really felt they wanted you to visit their country. We did a helicopter tour over Victoria falls, which were awe inspiring - another highlight of the holiday. All the transfers were smooth and efficient and this reduced any stress in the holiday, loved the small plane hops between camps in Botswana. We had an unforgettable holiday and will be boring our friends and family with it for months. Thanks for your help in organising this wonderful holiday. "

" We had a wonderful time! We loved the journey and whole experience on Rovos Rail from Pretoria to Vic Falls. We especially enjoyed Victoria Falls and the wildlife in the grounds of the hotel! We liked Mauritius alot. "

"We had a FABULOUS time. Even my husband, who was not keen on going, enjoyed the trip! We saw the Big 5 as well as many other animals. The vulture feeding at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge was well worth watching. It is part of a foundation to keep these birds from becoming endangered. It was a great trip and my family loved it. Thank you so very much for all your help in making the trip a reality for us!!!"
