DAY 1
Start your holiday with an overnight flight to Kasane via Johannesburg.
DAYS 2-3
Arrive in Kasane and transfer to your camp for a two night stay. Chobe is home to large herds of elephant and buffalo that congregate at the river during the dry season. Cruising the Chobe River makes for unique photographic opportunities, and a relaxing way to ease into Botswanan life. With electric boats and game vehicles, Chobe Game Lodge allows guests to experience silent safaris, with just the sounds of nature for company.
DAYS 4-5
Today you will be transferred by road back to Kasane then flown by light aircraft to the Savuti region for two nights. This fascinating area - between the Delta and Chobe National Park - is home to a wonderful array of wildlife, particularly predators. The mysterious Savuti Channel and Marsh are unpredictable water sources, drying up for many years before suddenly flowing once more. This is a stark but beautiful part of Botswana and also home to many interesting native and migratory bird species.
DAYS 6-7
Transfer by light aircraft to your next camp in the Okavango Delta. Each year the Delta transforms as the rains from Angola flood through to create an ever-changing inland sea, twisting around thousands of green islands. This dynamic landscape can be explored by boat, on foot or by mokoro – a traditional dugout canoe and a unique way to glide along the shimmering waterways. Activities may vary by camp location and season depending on water levels. Enjoy two nights in your chosen camp to experience this spectacle of nature.
DAYS 8-9
A light aircraft flight will take you to the Moremi Game Reserve for two nights. This is one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife reserves and for good reason. The game viewing and birding are exceptional and the combination of land and water-based activities offer a heady cocktail for even the most seasoned safari enthusiast. Moremi is a true conservation success story at the heart of Botswana’s quest to protect this delicate ecosystem.
DAYS 10-11
Another light aircraft flight will take you to a completely different environment for the final two nights of your stay in Botswana. The Makgadikgadi Pans, usually simply known as the Mak Pans, transform with the arrival of the rains from vast shimmering salt flats to shallow lakes. Along with the Boteti River, the available water sources help dictate the movements of Africa’s second largest zebra migration. Whatever the time of year, the Mak Pans provide some of nature’s most extreme magnificent landscapes and interesting game viewing.
DAY 12
A final light aircraft hop back to Maun, where you will connect onto a flight back to Johannesburg then to an overnight flight back to the UK.
