DAY 1
Fly from the UK to Kilimanjaro via Amsterdam. Transfer on arrival to your lodge on the outskirts of Arusha for a one night stay. Talk to your African Pride consultant if you would like to add an additional night in Arusha prior to flying to the parks – the pretty coffee plantations make for a very relaxing day or you could book a tour to learn more about the journey from bean to cup for those looking to extend their stay.
DAYS 2-5
This morning you will be transferred to the airport for your light aircraft flight to Katavi National Park – one of the most rugged and wild destinations in the world. This is the Africa of old – raw, wild and with great game numbers vastly outnumbering visitors. Spend four nights at your camp enjoying game drives and walking safaris, or just soak up the views from camp. You will often find the wildlife will come to you.
DAYS 6-8
Today you will take a light aircraft flight to another remote corner of Tanzania – the magnificent Mahale Mountains. Here the slopes of the forest give way to the powder white shores of Lake Tanganyika, on which you can kayak, fish or just enjoy a leisurely sundowner cruise. But the star attraction is undoubtedly trekking the wooded trails in in search of the resident chimpanzees. This is one of the best places in the world to see primates in their natural habitat. Spend three nights at your camp on an unforgettable adventure.
DAY 9
Enjoy breakfast at Mahale before checking out to begin your journey home. You will be transferred back to the local airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Arusha. Transfer by road to Kilimanjaro airport for your overnight flights home via Amsterdam, or ask your African Pride consultant about the possible beach extensions.
DAY 10
