DAY 1
Start your holiday with a day time flight to Nairobi. Transfer to your hotel for a 1 night stay. If you would like to have time to explore all Nairobi has to offer, such as the Elephant orphanage or the Giraffe Centre, then please ask your African Pride consultant about extending your stay in Kenya’s bustling and exciting capital city.
DAYS 2-3
Your driver/guide will collect you in a 4x4 Landcruiser to begin your private safari adventures. First drive to the Masai Mara – a truly iconic safari destination. The Great Migration passes through here between July and October, but the Mara delights animal lovers year round with its excellent resident game and predators. Spend two nights at your chosen property with game drives exploring the grasslands and rivers of this magical national park. Journey time approx. 5 hours.
DAY 4
Today you will drive to the Kenyan Lake District, where you will arrive in time for an afternoon boat trip on Lake Naivasha. One of the prime locations for bird watching in East Africa, this beautiful freshwater lake also draws various game to its papyrus fringes shorelines. Journey time approx. 4 hours.
DAYS 5-6
Drive via Nairobi to Amboseli National Park, one of the most spectacular settings you can imagine. On a clear day Mount Kilimanjaro rises in the distance, providing an iconic photo opportunity with the open plains stretching away to the snowy cap of the extinct volcano. Spend a full day exploring this beautiful park which is home to a wide variety of game and birdlife, but particularly famous for its high numbers of elephants. Journey time approx. 6 ½ hours.
DAY 7
Drive to the Tsavo region, where two distinct National Parks (Tsavo East & West) together form one of the largest protected wilderness areas in Africa. Stop to see the eerie lava flows at Shaitani before arriving at your lodge and heading out on an afternoon game drive in the hilly, baobab covered woodlands of Tsavo West. A visit to Mzima Springs is a highlight, where an underwater viewing hide may provide a unique perspective of hippo or crocodiles, and the birdlife here is extraordinary. Journey time approx. 2 ½ hours
DAY 8
Departing after breakfast, your guide will drive you back to Nairobi or onwards to the coast at Mombasa for your overnight flight back to the UK. For the adventurous, you could opt for a train journey to either city instead. Speak to your African Pride consultant about the options available to you, or if you would like to extend your holiday with a relaxing beach break on the Kenya coast near Mombasa.
