Day by day
DAY 2
Arrive in Arusha
Transfer on arrival to your lodge on the outskirts of Arusha for a one night stay. Explore the gardens and walking trails or just relax and soak up the views of Mount Meru – Tanzania’s second highest peak.
DAY 3
West to Karatu
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Arusha before you are collected early afternoon by your guide for your small group safari tour. Every guest is guaranteed a window seat in the 4x4 land-cruiser, which has a rooftop hatch for enhanced game viewing. Drive to Karatu, the highland coffee growing region close to Ngorongoro where you will spend two nights at your lodge. Journey time approx. 2 hours.
DAY 4
The wonderous Crater
After breakfast, depart for a full day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater – often described as the eighth wonder of the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to around 25,000 animals and thousands of birds, and it truly one of the most spectacular wildlife destinations on the continent. Enjoy a picnic lunch during your day before returning to your lodge for the night.
DAYS 5-6
Spectacular Serengeti Safari
Depart Karatu for a morning drive to the Serengeti, with magnificent scenery and wildlife along the way. Arrive in time for lunch at the camp which will be your home for the next two nights in the heart of the central Serengeti. Enjoy game drives across the plains and amongst the rocky kopjes of Tanzania’s most famous park with its seemingly endless volume of animals. Journey time approx. 3 ½ hours.
DAY 7
Magical Lake Manyara
This morning depart for Manyara, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge where you will spend the night. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, which is famous for the lions who can sometimes be spotted lounging in the trees. There is a good range of game here plus the soda lake attracts a large amount of birdlife. Journey time approx. 4 ½ hours
DAY 8
The Trees of Tarangire
Your final stop is the varied landscape of Tarangire National Park, where massive baobab trees and the Tarangire River make for a birdwatchers paradise in a stunning setting. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive. The only crowds you will encounter in this park are of the elephant variety – with over 3,000 of these majestic beasts making their home here. Journey time approx. 2 hours
DAYS 9-14
Exotic Zanzibar
After breakfast drive back to Arusha – journey time approx. 2 hours – where your tour ends. Wave goodbye to your guide and board a flight to the Spice Island of Zanzibar. Transfer on arrival to your chosen beach hotel for six nights relaxation and rejuvenation. Ask your African Pride consultant about the range of day trips and excursions possible – from exploring the historic trading centre of Stone Town to meeting rare Red Colobus monkeys in the Jozani Forest.
DAY 15
Transfer to the airport
Enjoy breakfast by the beach before checking out of your room and being transferred back to the airport. Fly overnight back to the UK via Nairobi.
