DAY 1
Start your holiday with an overnight flight to Entebbe via Doha.
DAY 2
Arrive in Entebbe and transfer to your hotel for a one night stay. The city of Entebbe sits on Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa, and is home to Uganda’s international airport. The capital city of Kampala is just 22 miles away but Entebbe is a much more relaxing option for an afternoon around the pool or a stroll along the lakefront after a flight. Your afternoon is at leisure.
DAYS 3-5
After an early breakfast you will be collected by your driver/guide in a private safari landcruiser for your adventures in Uganda. Drive to Murchison Falls National Park, with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and lunch at a local restaurant along the way. Spend three nights at your lodge enjoying this wonderfully scenic park. Enjoy game drives and boat cruises on the Victoria Nile, including a sundowner cruise to the base of the spectacular Falls themselves.
DAYS 6-7
Set off for the drive to Kibale National Park, where 13 different primate species reside. The drive is quite long but beautifully scenic through the Albertine Rift Valley. A lunch stop will be made en route before you arrive at your lodge for a two night stay. Next morning you will head to the park offices to register for your chimpanzee trek. Treks typically last around three hours, with many other monkey species spotted along the way, Once the chimps are located, you will spend a wonderful hour with them in their natural habitat. The rest of the day is spent exploring the forest trails with your guide enjoying the varied birdlife.
DAYS 8-9
This morning is free for you to relax or ask your African Pride consultant about a second chimp trekking permit if you wish – additional cost will apply. After lunch drive to Lake Mburo National Park, arriving in time for an afternoon game drive. Spend two nights at your lodge enjoying game drives in the park and a boat trip on Lake Mburo. If you would like to include a horseback safari or guided nature walk instead, please ask your consultant for additional costs.
DAYS 10-11
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel then drive through remote villages of the Kizegi Highlands before arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. Settle in for a two night stay and spend the afternoon enjoying the scenic views or opt for a visit to the empowering Ride4aWoman project. Next morning you will depart early for the park headquarters for a once in a lifetime experience – trekking the mountain gorillas on the slopes of the misty mountains. The trek length will be determined by the gorilla’s location but once found, you will spend a mesmerising hour in the presence. Any free time this afternoon can be spent birdwatching with your guide.
DAY 12
After breakfast your guide will take you to the local airstrip for your light aircraft flight back to Entebbe. On arrival, you will be met and assisted with connecting to your overnight flights back to the UK via Doha.
