DAY 1
Start your holiday with an overnight flight to Bulawayo via Johannesburg.
DAYS 2-4
Arrive in Bulawayo and transfer to the Matobo Hills National Park, just an hours drive to the south. Spend 3 nights exploring this fascinating area. Set among the granite hills and boulders of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, there’s a real sense of place. Activities range from rhino tracking to guided walks around the lodge and in the hills you’ll see ancient rock art from the San bushmen. You can also visit the tomb of Cecil John Rhodes - it’s easy to see why the spot is known as the ‘View of the World’.
DAYS 5-7
Transfer by road to Hwange National Park for 3 nights on safari. Zimbabwe’s oldest and largest park, Hwange is particularly famous for its huge herds of elephant but there is also great general game. Head out on game drives and guided walks, or simply sit at a water pan and observe the wildlife as it comes to drink. A cultural visit to Dete village is also available.
DAYS 8-10
Transfer by road to Victoria Falls for a 3 night stay. Whether you prefer to stay in a hotel or exclusive guesthouse in the town and be close to the Falls, or in a beautiful lodge right on the banks of the river, there are plenty of options. We know the area well and are happy to share our thoughts. There’s so much to do and see here – a tour of the Falls, on foot or by air, is a highlight. There are adrenaline-fuelled activities such as white water rafting and gorge swings too – some are seasonal so please call to discuss your requirements. We highly recommend that you take a gentle sundowner cruise – or maybe even dinner – on the Zambezi River during your stay.
DAY 11
