DAYS 2-4
Natural beauty in the coastal Overberg
Arrive in Cape Town and collect your hire car for the drive to Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. This award-winning lodge is a haven of outdoor activities close to Hermanus, the whale watching capital of South Africa. Enjoy picnics on the beach, exploring the pristine reserve with your guide and fine dining, all with spectacular views at every turn. With a wealth of experiences on offer, Grootbos is a firm favourite with the African Pride team. Drive time approx. 2. hours
DAYS 5-7
Explore the Garden Route
Take a scenic drive to Sedgefield, perhaps stopping for lunch in historic Swellendam or the harbour town of Mossel Bay which marks the start of the famed Garden Route. Kambaku at Sea is perfectly positioned to enjoy the wide variety of activities available on the coastal stretch between George and Knysna. Magnificent views of the Outeniqua mountains frame the scenery in South Africa’s Lake District. Ask the African Pride team about the various ways to enjoy this beautiful region. Drive time approx. 4 ½ hours.
DAYS 8-9
Adventures abound at Plettenberg Bay
It is a short drive to the eastern side of Plettenberg Bay but with so much to explore we know this is the best way to utilise your time. Hike, bike or zip wire through the canopy of the Tsitsikamma National Park, visit the wildlife sanctuaries at Monkeyland or Birds of Eden and enjoy miles of idyllic golden beaches. Return each evening to the elegant country comforts of Fairview House nestled in the fynbos. Drive time approx. 1 hour.
DAYS 10-12
Take a wildlife safari in the Eastern Cape
Drive to your chosen Eastern Cape game reserve for a 3 night stay on safari. There are a wide range of accommodation options in a malaria free setting, just a short drive from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). Long Lee Manor is a colonial style homestead in the heart of the extensive Shamwari Private reserve. Speak to your African Pride consultant about the best lodge for your requirements. Drive time approx. 3 ½ hours.
DAY 13
Drive to the airport
Enjoy your final game drive and breakfast before driving to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) airport to drop off your hire car and catch your onward flight via Johannesburg to the UK.
