DAY 1
Your tour departs from Cape Town – speak to the African Pride team about how to combine this tour with the rest of your holiday plans. Travel through mountainous passes to Cape Agulhas, the southern-most tip of Africa. Continue through historic Swellendam and along scenic Route 62 to Oudtshoorn, famed for its Ostrich farming heritage. Enjoy dinner this evening at a local Ostrich Farm before retiring to your hotel. Journey time approx. 5 ½ hours.
DAY 2
After breakfast, set off to explore the unique experiences around the Oudtshoorn area. Enjoy a tour of the Cango Caves, followed by a tractor tour at a working Ostrich Farm. Finish the day with a wine tasting experience before returning your hotel.
DAY 3
Depart breakfast and travel over the Outeniqua Mountain Pass to George, then onto the small resort of Wilderness. From here the N2 winds its way along to Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) – incorporating the coastal section up to Tsitsikamma famously known as the Garden Route. Enjoy lunch en route to your hotel in Knysna before some time at leisure, then join an afternoon sunset cruise on the Knysna Lagoon. Journey time approx. 2 ½ hours.
DAY 4
Today you will visit Monkeyland, famous for its rehabilitated primates roaming free in the forest. Travel via Knysna Heads for spectacular views onto Brenton on Sea, where natural beauty meets unspoilt beaches. The afternoon is at leisure. Return to your hotel in Knysna for the night.
DAY 5
Travel to Plettenberg Bay, the jewel in the Garden Route crown, and visit the Birds of Eden sanctuary. Continue via spectacular Bloukrans Bridge to the Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth – the official end of the Garden Route. The Tsitsikamma National Park encompasses mountainous forests and deep valleys, leading down to the rocky coastline – a truly breath-taking region. Journey time approx. 2 hours.
DAY 6
Head eastwards after breakfast to the bustling “friendly city” of Gqeberha – formerly known as Port Elizabeth. Enjoy a city tour before your tour comes to an end – either at the airport for onward travel or perhaps a beachside hotel to relax. Ask your African Pride tours consultant about your onward arrangements. The malaria free Eastern Cape game reserves are just a short distance away, offering the possibility of adding an exciting wildlife safari to an unforgettable adventure. Journey time approx. 3 hours.
