DAY 1
Start your holiday with a day time flight to Nairobi. Transfer to your hotel for a one night stay. With a vibrant shopping and crafts scene, plus unique animal interactions such as visits to the Giraffe Centre or Elephant Orphanage, Nairobi can be much more than a gateway to Kenya. Ask your African Pride consultant if you would like to build in time to explore this fascinating city.
DAYS 2-3
Your driver/guide will collect you in a 4x4 Landcruiser to begin your private safari adventures. Drive south across the Athi plains, home of the colourful Maasai tribes, to Amboseli National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive on arrival, then a full day of exciting game viewing in the park with picnic lunch at Observation Hill. With big cats, large elephant herds and diverse birdlife this small park has a great concentration of wildlife. On a clear day, the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance will provide a dramatic backdrop to your wildlife viewing. Journey time approx. 5 hours.
DAY 4
This morning you will drive via the Shaitani lava flows to Tsavo West National Park, arriving in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive in the park treats you to spectacular views of the Chyulu and Taita Hills, Ngulia Mountain range and Kilimanjaro on all sides. Mzima Springs is home to a wonderful underwater hide, allowing for a special stop to observe life beneath the crystal clear waters. If you are lucky, this is a once in a lifetime chance to see hippo and crocs from below the water line. Journey time approx. 3 hours.
DAY 5
Today cross into neighbouring Tsavo East – Kenya’s largest national park. Sitting at a lower altitude than its sister park, Tsavo East is hotter and flatter, offering excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Arrive in time for lunch before heading out on an exciting game drive in search of red elephants – so called because they cover themselves in the parks red soil. A scramble to the top of Mudanda Rock brings rich reward in the form of stunning panoramic views. Journey time approx. 3 hours.
DAYS 6-10
Depart after breakfast for a drive the Kenyan coast where your safari comes to an end as you wave goodbye to your guide. For a more scenic way to travel, ask your African Pride consultant about taking the train to the coastal hub of Mombasa instead before transferring to your chosen beach resort. Spend 5 nights relaxing on the beach or trying your hand at one of the many activities such as snorkelling, swimming and diving that be found in this area. Your tours consultant will be happy to discuss which property will best suit your individual requirements, Journey time approx. 5 hours
DAY 11
Transfer to Mombasa Airport for your overnight flight back to the UK via Nairobi.
