DAY 1
Start your holiday with a day time flight to Nairobi. Transfer to your hotel for a 1 night stay. Kenya’s capital has much to explore, such as the Elephant orphanage, Giraffe Centre and a wealth of shopping opportunities. Ask your African Pride consultant about adding extra nights before your tour to explore this exciting city.
DAYS 2-3
You will be collected this morning by your guide for your small group safari tour. Every guest is guaranteed a window seat and the specially adapted safari minibus has a pop up roof to maximise game viewing opportunities. Head north, crossing the equator to the semi-arid Samburu National Reserve for a two night stay. Game drives in this wilderness region involve searching for the “Special 5” – a collection of rare species not found in the southern parks. Journey time approx. 6 hours.
DAY 4
This morning you will drive past the spectacular peak of Mount Kenya to the Highlands region, arriving in time for lunch. This afternoon enjoy a game drive in the famous Ol Pejeta conservancy, home to a hugely successful rhino breeding project and one of the best places in Africa to see these majestic creatures. Overnight at the Sarova Maiyan Nanyuki. Journey time approx. 2 hours.
DAY 5
Set off after an early breakfast for a scenic drive via Thomson’s waterfalls en route to Kenya’s Lake District. The Great Rift Valley is home to a number of stunning lakes in beautiful settings. After lunch and a chance to take a dip in the pool, head out on an evening boat trip on Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake known for its rich diversity of birdlife. Journey time approx. 5 hours.
DAYS 6-7
Today you set off to drive to the jewel in Kenya’s safari crown – the Masai Mara. Arrive in time for lunch then head out on an afternoon game drive in the park. The next day is also spent on game drives in one of the most spectacular game view regions anywhere in the world. This small group safari tour is scheduled during the peak months of July to October, when the migratory herds of zebra and wildebeest graze on the grasslands in addition to the amazing resident big game. Spend two nights at the Masai Mara Sopa Lodge high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills. Journey time approx. 4 hours
DAY 8
Departing after breakfast, your journey will end after a drive back to Nairobi. Speak to your African Pride consultant about afternoon sightseeing options or a final feature meal in Kenya before your overnight flight home. Alternatively, why not consider a beach extension on the Kenyan Coast or the Tanzanian Spice Island of Zanzibar.
DAY 9
Welcome Home!
