On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay at the Maison Gallieni hotel or similar. The rest of your day is at leisure to explore the capital city independently as you wish.
DAYS 3-4
This morning you will be met by your guide for a tour of the Old City and upper town areas of ‘Tana’. Afterwards depart by road for the drive to Andasibe, enjoying a tour of the Peyrieras Nature Farm along the way. Arrive in Andasibe and check into Mantadia Lodge (or similar) for a 2 night stay before heading out for a night walk with your guide in the Mitsinjo Reserve to observe the nocturnal wildlife. Next morning explore the primary forest of Mantadia Park, home to 14 lemur species and over 100 varieties of bird. Later visit the colourful village of Andasibe with its narrow, cobbled streets and fascinating market.
DAY 5
After an early breakfast depart for the Analamazaotra special reserve where you will enjoy an easy 2-3 hour hike searching for the largest lemur species, the Indri. Later visit the Vakona reserve, an island surrounded by freshwater that is home to a variety of lemurs including the diademed sifaka and offering a rare chance to get close to and interact with these fascinating creatures. Continue by road back to Antananarivo for a 1 night stay at Relais Des Plateaux or similar.
