Day by day
DAY 2
Arrive in Arusha
Transfer on arrival to your lodge on the outskirts of Arusha for a one night stay. Advise your African Pride consultant prior to travel if would like to explore the coffee plantation on a journey from bean to cup, or just soak up the views from the tranquil gardens.
DAY 3
Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, your driver/guide will collect you in a 4x4 Landcruiser to begin your private safari adventures. First stop is Tarangire – a beautifully scenic park which receives relatively few visitors compared to its more famous siblings. The grassy savannah is interspersed with impressive Baobab trees and the waterways draw an impressive array of birdlife. Spend the day game viewing with a picnic lunch stop before heading to your lodge for the night. Journey time approx. 2 hours.
DAY 4
Lake Manyara
Drive across the Great Rift Valley to Manyara, arriving at your next lodge in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon on a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park - a small, forested park but which boasts an impressive wildlife density. Look out for hippo and flamingos around the lake, and if you are lucky you may spot a big cat lazing in a tree…no, not the leopard you might expect – the lions here have taken to the branches to escape the heat and observe their prey. Overnight at your lodge with stunning views across the valley. Journey time approx. 2 ½ hours
DAYS 5-6
The endless plains of the Serengeti
This morning you drive to the heart of Tanzania’s most famous and important park. The Serengeti provides an astonishing animal spectacle at any time of year with a diverse mix of predators and prey. Arrive at your lodge for lunch then set out on exciting game drives across your two night stay. For the ultimate thrill, why not ask your African Pride consultant about adding a hot air balloon trip at sunrise? Journey time approx. 4 ½ hours.
DAY 7
Travel to Ngorongoro
Depart after breakfast for the drive to another of Tanzania’s safari crown jewels – the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. Lunch at the lodge which will be your home for two nights, then choose from an exciting selection of afternoon activities. Opt for a guided walk to waterfalls through the forest; a visit to a local tribal homestead or a cycling safari including a village market stop. Your African Pride consultant will need to prebook your choice of excursion so please ask us for any further details. Journey time approx. 3 ½ hours
DAY 8
Explore the Crater
An early breakfast before you depart for the crater floor for an unforgettable day in this remarkable area. The scenery is stunning and the density of wildlife scarcely believable. Enjoy a picnic lunch to make the most of the 6 hour permit time, before heading back to your lodge late afternoon for a final night in Tanzania to reflect on a remarkable adventure.
DAY 9
Return to Arusha
Return to Arusha by road after breakfast, before checking in for your flight home. Fly overnight back to the UK via Doha or ask your African Pride consultant about extending your trip with a beach break.
